Pumpkin Juice are a Celtic Fiddle Group from Newcastle in the Hunter Valley. Pumpkin Juice feature four young kids aged between 8 and 13 having fun playing fast and fun Celtic tunes on their fiddles. Two adults support the fiddles... Jen playing bodhran and Ray playing guitar.

Gabi, Margot, Julius and Olivia have all studied classical violin from an early age. They have now branched out into Celtic music for fun and money! Fast Scottish and Irish Jigs, Reels and Strathspeys are their repertoire which they play as a busking group each Sunday at the Farmers Market in Newcastle. They also perform at weddings, parties, festivals and as guest performers for local music gatherings about the Hunter Valley, Central Coast and Port Stephens. Their latest enjoyable concert was playing as the major act at the Young Champions Concert in Charlestown.

Pumpkin Juice's main inspiration comes from the Launceston Youth Orchestra residential string camp in Tasmania which they have attended for the last two years. At the camp they benefit from the amazing fiddling wizardry of Victorian Celtic fiddler Colin MacLeod www.roamingfree.com.au.

Pumpkin Juice's performance highlight so far was playing at the 2011 Austrlaian Celtic Festival in Glen Innes where they supported Murphies Pigs and Catherine Proctor-Moore at the Triquestra Dinner. They also entertained the crowds with their fast jigs and catchy celtic tunes on the Ruby Stage up at the Standing Stones Festival grounds. Pumpkin Juice are very excited to be invited to perform at the Australian Celtic Festival again in May this year (2012).

Some of their favourite tunes include Irish Washerwoman, Drowsy Maggie, King of the Fairies, High Drive, Bonnee Dundee, Scotland the Brave, Mairi’s Wedding and I’ll Tell Me Ma and many more ... :-)
